FALL 2024 FITNESS & GROUP EX EVENTS

November 20th-December 23rd: Race to the North Pole -

This deep and shallow water workout improves cardio fitness in timedintervals and ends with pilates, balance, and flexibility training for a totalbody workout.

With a similar format as Les Mills BodyPumpâ„¢, this class challenges all major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls matched to music to create a simple, fun and effective way to strength train that gives you fantastic results!

A LES MILLS strength training workout that challenges all of your major muscle groups by using weight-room exercises such as squats, presses, lifts and curls.

Boot Camp involves alternating aerobic intervals such as plyometrics, jump rope, and athletic drills with strengthening intervals to give you a workout that is intense yet easy to follow.

A fast-paced mix of cardio and strength training consisting of 10 stations with one minute rotations. Participants will visit each station four times for a complete work-out. All fitness levels are welcome.

This hybrid format opens with a warm-up, a blast of cardio, dance, then shifts into explosive HIIT training. With a focus on both athleticism and endurance, participants of all levels will be challenged.

Indoor cycling, often called spinning, is a form of exercise with classes focusing on endurance, strength, intervals, high intensity (race days) and recovery, and involves using a special stationary exercise bicycle with a weighted flywheel in a classroom setting. This 30- minute HIIT class Includes cardio and plyometric drills with intervals of strength, power, resistance, and core training. It all happens in long bursts of maximum-intensity exercises with short periods of rest so you can burn maximum calories!

Learn to cultivate this kind of discipline that will help you in your everyday life (on the yoga mat and off the yoga mat). Yoga is also an excellent form of cross-training, and helps to aid in recovery, increase range of motion, reduce pain levels, and strengthen the systems of the body.

This energizing step workout is choreographed to the latest music to keep you moving and singing along. Step Up includes plyometrics and power intervals to challenge every fitness level. Step up to the challenge and take this class!

Improve your flexibility in this 30-minute class designed to lengthen and relax those tight muscles. We recommend you do a light warmup or attend the class beforehand to prepare for stretching exercises.

Here at University Recreation, we are excited to offer this free service to all members who currently have a student, faculty/staff, three-month, one-year, or monthly recurring membership. Whether this is your first time getting into the gym or you are well-experienced, we are here to help guide you in your next steps. Based on the information received in the request form, we will create a custom 6-week workout plan tailored to help you achieve those goals.

Personal Training

All personal trainers are certified through a nationally accredited organization and have current CPR certification.
