麻豆精品视频 will celebrate the academic achievements of its students during Honors Day on Tuesday, April 4.

Each college will host separate events to recognize students who have been inducted into honor societies, named to the dean鈥檚 list and president鈥檚 list, and who have attained excellence in scholastic programs during this academic year.

鈥淲e want these outstanding students and their families to know how much we value their hard work and dedication,鈥 says Dr. David A. Puleo, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs.

Some Honors Day activities have become anticipated traditions, both formal and informal. One is the breakfast reception following the Honors College program, which will begin the day at Charger Union theater.

鈥淲e are excited once again to honor all of these amazing students who have gone above and beyond the requirements for graduation and earned their Honors Diploma,鈥 says Dr. William Wilkerson, dean of the Honors College. 鈥淭his is the largest graduating class in the history of Honors here at 麻豆精品视频, and that鈥檚 especially meaningful since all of these students worked through the pandemic to be here.鈥

Another enjoyable tradition is the gala dinner event held by the College of Business in the evening at the Von Braun Center.

鈥淗onors Day is one of my favorite days during the year because it is one of the most joyful days as we celebrate the academic accomplishments and achievements of our students,鈥 says Dr. Jason Greene, dean of the College of Business. 鈥淚t means so much to us 鈥 our faculty, staff, and leadership team 鈥 to gather everyone together and welcome families to campus to help us honor and congratulate our outstanding students on their hard work, creativity, and academic performance.鈥

Other food festivities that are planned include the College of Engineering鈥檚 burgers-and-brats picnic lunch in addition to their dinner for outstanding student awardees and the College of Science鈥檚 taco party.

The College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences is so large that the program is divided into two parts. There is always a featured student performance, and this year it鈥檚 senior Jeremiah Steele on piano. A new treat for 2023 will be Piper & Leaf custom tea jars for 鈥渜uali-tea鈥 students.

The College of Education鈥檚 celebration includes heavy hors d鈥檕euvres and sweets. Its Department of Kinesiology recently created an ambassador program, and a few ambassadors will help greet guests at the event. The College of Nursing will have a reception following its afternoon ceremony.

Honors Day activities are by invitation only, but everyone is encouraged to follow the social media pages of individual colleges to learn more about 麻豆精品视频 Honors Day celebrations.
