The Propulsion Research Center (PRC) conducts research, produces publications, and mentors students in advanced propulsion technologies and their applications. Established at Â鶹¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ on February 1, 1991 by Dr. Clark W. Hawk, the PRC has grown from three faculty members and five student researchers to thirty-two faculty members, researchers, and staff and over fifty graduate and undergraduate researchers.
The PRC connects the academic research community and propulsion community through interdisciplinary collaboration. Our state-of-the-art laboratories provide detailed assessments of liquid, solid, electric, and air-breathing propulsion devices – including cryogenic propellants.
The Center has a broad range of customers including , , DoE, MDA, and members of the aerospace industry both large and small, such as Aerojet Rocketdyne, HyperV Technologies Corporation, and . The PRC also built a major presence at the annual American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Joint Propulsion Conference. The PRC can assist with basic research grants, contracts; SBIR/STTR’s, and can operate in an ITAR/proprietary environment upon request.
